One year Anniversary

ALOHA RAG New York had our one year anniversary last week! Thank you very much for your supporting us all year!!!!!

 

And.... This is our sweet anniversary cake！

I have been busy picking items for 09FW collections. It's almost spring here in New York, but... the weather is very strange. Spring yesterday, and back to winter today... I am so tired of wearing my winter clothes, so I layer my spring outfit on top of it! I purchased many spring and summer wardrobe already. My wallet is.... like cold winter, but I'm looking forward to wearing them all very soon!

By the way, I have my new thing, Finding Great Restaurants recently. Once a week I'll visit different restaurants that I have never been to, to find one of the greatest restaurant here.

I visited "Wallse" an Austria restaurant that located in West Village. I heard about them from my friend before, and I wanted to visit there. I always get a bit nervous when I visit new restaurants, but no worry for Wallse. A smiling maitre'd welcomed me and took me to the table smoothly even though it was packed with many customers. I don't know about Austria cuisine much, so I took the waiter's recommendations. Foie Gras paste with homemade jelly as an hours d'oeuvre. I am not a big fan of Foue Gras before, so I didn't know that it was very special to have it as a paste. The taste was totally like in Heaven. And then, I had a giant mushroom with gnocchi cream sauce. It was an amazing combination of taste with their selected herb. And more... I had one of my favorite dishes, veal cutlet as a main dish. It was so delicious and I was too sad to finish the last piece of cutlet on my plate.... I'll be addicted to Wallse... well... to be continued my new thing, Finding Great Restaurants.

Cacharel x Liberty

Great news to you!
Cacharel will arrive to ALOHA RAG at the end of March 2009. I'ts Cacharel's 50th anniversary this year.
They reproduced a special revival collaboration with Liberty that was made in London during the 1970's. To celebrate their 50th anniversary, Cacharel x Liberty collaboration came back.... again!

They've already started to sell two weeks ago in Europe. I heard that Colette in Paris sold 300pcs in the first day. Corso Como in Milano sold more than 750pcs already. The price is very reasonable, and everybody loves the tiny flower print all over it.
This collection consist of dresses, shirts, shorts and tank tops. This is a perfect must have for the summer! We'll sell them at our New York & Honolulu store and also our online boutique as well! Please look forward to see Cacharel x Liberty special collaborations at ALOHA RAG!

New York Episode...

I have visited many showrooms and trade shows during fashion week here. So far, I found a few great 09 F/W collections, and one of my favorite is Elizabeth and James!

Their collections are better than I expected! Of course the clothing line is fantastic and better than last season, and their new shoe line is so amazing too. I think that they know what ladies want so well!!! I am sure that they will be successful this season as well as last one.

I saw their designers in the showroom by coincidence. As you know.. yes.. they are the Olsen sisters! I didn't think that they did their own work, but use their popularity... but it's not like that at all. I was so impressed to see them there and they have been spending a lot of energy to their collection. Needless to say, they are very fashionable as American fashion leaders in their private outfits also.

And more great news about Elizabeth and James! They will start their Men's collection from 09 F/W. Unfortunately, it's still under off the record, so I can't tell you more..... I have an appointment with them next week , so I'll send you more information later!

OK, I better go now to see more collections!

Long trip...

Well....... It's been a long time to see you all here again. I've just got back to New York from my long trip. I traveled to four different cities in one month! My trip started from Okinawa, Yah!!! Unfortunately, it was a very short visit there (only two days) and it had rained both days... but I enjoyed staying there soooo much! I had Okinawa Soba (Okinawa style soba noodle), it was so amazingly delicious! Tenderly cooked pork belly on top of noodles... I would like to eat this everyday if I could, and would love to go back there again, and hopefully next time around it would be sunny in Okinawa. I enjoyed my short stay in Okinawa, then it was off to Tokyo. It has been a year since I've last visited Tokyo. I was so excited to see all new shops and restaurants there, and also our new press office which was recently re-located. I am off again to my next destination....Hawaii. I feel like I have not been in Hawaii in such a long time. It's been two months? three months?..I lost count and mileage... So nice to see all our Honolulu members and being around our Honolulu store as well. Then.... this was my last stop on my journey. Guess where? .......It's Miami! The last I visited here was a year ago for a viewing of art located at Art Basel in Miami Beach. I stayed three nights, with my Friend Mr and Mrs Shishido. My eyes were so happy to see all Arts compositions and my tummy was happy for all the delicious food as well. Just one thing was bothering me....... I wanted to all of them... I mean all of Art pieces ... but I can't! I am so stressed out to discipline myself not to do that! Anyway... I took home with me two Art pieces from the exclusive gallery......mission accomplished. I'll show you them to you as soon as they arrive. These are photos from my trip......ENJOY!!!

Motorcycle in New York

Wow, I can't belive that I have been in New York for 10 months already. Time flies when your having fun!!!
I have been collecting some things since I arrived here. You would never guess????......It's Motorcycle photos!
I've seen rare bikes and motocycles around our store. I am not sure why, but many bikers hang aorund here with their amazing vehicles. They all look so special, ranging from different designs, models, style, etc... just perfect!
I took these photos yesterday. If anyone knows about this particular bike, please let me know what it is.
It looks like a classic BMW, but no scratches on it, it's like a art piece! And you know how I aodre art collectables.
I want it!!!!!!!! Oh.... well..... I almost forgot.....I can't ride a bike anyways
