Kiosk

I went to KIOSK on the way to our store. I always enjoy my experience when arriving here. They have many slected items with a "theme", so you feel like you're in an art gallary. The theme changes about 5 to 6-times a year, and "AMERICA" is the theme now. You will see "Sweet old time America". This theme gives you a vintage feel with simple designs and colors. One thing I need to tell you before you visit KIOSK, is that their entrance looks a bit wired... but don't be afraid! Everytning in this entire shop is nice, so take a look

My First Sotheby's

Today is my first Sotheby's day! I've always wanted to go there. The night before the auction, I was too excited about going to Sotheby's, so I could not sleep well all night... haha. I am just like a little kid! Anyway, I was standing in front of Sotheby's main door.. and said wow! And then, I walked into the auction's hall... said WOW again! I got great energy from this legendly place,. yes it is Sotheby's!

Why did I visit the auction today even on such short notice? One of my extended friends listed this auction and he wanted to sell his Basquiat composition that was estimated a few hundred thousands dollars$$$$ I was so nervous when his Basquiat came during the auction.... even though it was not mine. Unfortunately, the listed price was too high, not one potential buyer raised their hand.... I stayed awhile and observed what was going on. It seems like everybody knew what they wanted to buy before they came here. Some of listed items sold more than the estimated price. Some of buyers joined by phone calls from all over the world. I was totally amazed about everything. This is a part of New York worth seening, if you have a chance. Sotheby's doors are open to everyone.

SUKIYAKI

I went to my friends "SUKIYAKI" party last night . I love to visit my friends place, and they always make me feel like I am staying at home. The great dinner and conversation, along with their sweet home and lovely company.... Kentaro-san, Kiri-san... Thank you very much for your hospitality.

GIORGIONE

New York is getting so cold and seriously it's going to be winter soon. I went to GIORGIONE at Spring street and Renwick street for my lunch today. I haven't been there in awhile, so let's check it out! Wow, it's packed with customers who are enjoying their meals even though it's late for a lunch break. No wonder why Giorgione is famous. Many fashion magazines and bloggers wrote about them as the "Best" Italian restaurant in New York City! Of course their dishes are delicious. The restaurant's owner established DEAN and DELUCA , and are very strict about what they use for their menus. From steaks to pizza they never disappoint you. I had the Linguine Alle Vongole (clams, white wine, garlic and extra virgin olive oil) and side salad today......YUMMY! Please come and enjoy GIORGIONE if you have a chance. It's better if you make a reservation before you go, especially for dinner time.

Surfing in New York

My surfing buddy Kentaro-kun sent me a photo last Sunday. Big waves and another big wave and another wave. Hawaii??? NO, these photos came from New Jersey, where just over the Hudson river from Manhattan. If you could catch good waves you may surf 50 to 100m. And look, no sufers here for such a big wave. If this was Hawaii it would be packed full of surfers. Surfing in New York, sounds amazing! I might go surfing here after I loose a few pounds from my belly.... Enjoy the "New York Super Machine Wave"!

PS... Here is my lovely cat Sadami. He was a Hawaii native, now he is totally a New Yorker! Finacial crises, economy problems, packed subways.... etc.. Look at Sadami! he does not care about anything. I love his attitude.... wish I could be like you, Sadami!!!
