3 Jackets the you won't see on the internet...
So, there are some things that are not going to be available on the aloharag.com. It's just how it goes. I am going to try my best to let you folks on The Internet know about these gems.
The weather in New York has been amazing, but the slow cold of Winter will be upon us soon enough. Here are 3 jackets that are only available in the store at ARNY. The first two are by Garment House Mania, our house brand. Started by Aloha Rag owner Tatsugo Yoda in 2007, the concept was to bring well manufactured/high quality basics to the world. Starting with Jeans constructed of Okayama denim, the line has evolved to a few shirt choices, military inspired trousers, and now jackets. The two jackets new to the line are both made of leather.
The first is a slim fitting blazer made of washed butter soft black leather. It’s fully lined with high quality cotton, and since the leather is pre-washed, the jacket is worked in a little and doesn't have the stiffness or the sheen of a typical leather jacket. Another quality that the leather washing adds is a great texture. The jacket can be dressed up, or worn very casually and it is that duality which makes this jacket so special.
The second jacket is a classic cafe style motorcycle jacket. The leather is a little bit thicker as to keep you sheltered from the elements while riding. The jacket is nice and fitted and has a snap closure at the neck to seal in the warmth. The sleeves are purposefully long so that the cuff is in line with your wrist when you are holding on the handlebars. Not to say this jacket is for the bike rider only, the little details such as the way the pieces are seamed together are quite fashion forward. And when you add the slight distressing the leather has already gone thorough it becomes the total package.
The third jacket is from a relatively new brand to us, and America for that matter. Tokyo Extra Grade is a power house ready to take over. They have a gallery, magazine, and although they are known for their tshirts (specifically their artist collaboration series) they also have some amazing cut and sew pieces. This jacket is a perfect example of their C+S skills. The styling is a mixture of p-coat and ceremonial uniform. It has reverse pointed cuff details on the sleeves and is held together by some of the highest quality hardware I have ever seen (the zipper is amazing). The loden-ish green felt is incredibly soft and smooth, and I'm sure this aids in the construction process because every stitch is flawlessly placed. If you are looking for a high quality fitted wool coat for the winter, you have found it.
