Celebrate Martin Margiela Vol.2

I received a box today. I thought it was a DVD from Amazon that I ordered last week....well it wasn't from Amazon??? WOW!...It's from Mr. L of MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA. Let me show you what was in the box

It was a book "MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA (20) The exhibition" made for his 20-year anniversary in MoMU Antwerp. I saw it in Maison Martin Margiela in Paris. I wanted to buy it then, but it was a bit over budget for myself... especialy in euros... Coincidently, I had an appointment with Mr.L, so why not ask if I can have one for us! This book is the journey of Margiela, you can see his 20-years of amazing history and compositions.

I called this knitwear "Nymph" , actually MMM's theme was "a ring".

He also has a photo of their famous "Welcome" staircase.

From the Mirror Bag, to Mirror shoes and the Mirror pants of the Spring and Summer Collection '09... This book shows you the evolving style of "mirror" detail in addition to the concept and where the style was inspired from.

                                                                      

It's HOT or not? This TATTOO design was one of his '80 collections. He is totally a 21st century pioneer!                                                                                                                       

These are Margiela's invitations. You'll find his entire invitations in this book, in which he personally used to send out to buyers and press for upcoming shows.
                                                                     

As I was turning pages and pages... following his 20 years of journey with this book, I said to myself I should own one of these. Oh, well..... Thank you very much Mr.L for sending this book to us! I'll share it with all ALOHA RAG members.
