Fool For Love: Aloha Rag X 5+1_ANNAPURNA

Fool4love

During a recent buying trip we fell in love with 5+1_ANNAPURNA! If you don't already know... the word Annapurna refers to a series of mountain peaks in the Himalayas. The meaning is very appropriate because 5+1_ANNAPURNA imports fine cashmere from the Himalayas into Italy to create simple and lovable knits. We chose to embroider our "Fool For Love" Skull design on each items breast to create the Aloha Rag X 5+1_ANNAPURNA knit! We adore the finished product! To view our other styles including sweaters and vests for men and a few long cardigans for women, please click on the links below. Leica In My Pocket

Leica_2

I got a new digicam in my pocket... it's a Leica! I acquired this Leica D-Lux 3 about a month ago because it offers full manual functions not found in most small cameras. The design is classical and clean with the components housed in a sleek matte black metal shell. My intention was to have this camera with me all of the time but unfortunately it's been resting next to my Polaroid SX-70 in a glass case (Oh well...). Remarkably, I brought it out with me today and found this photograph on its memory card. It is the very first photo i took with it walking to my car after work.

Tuesday Is My New Saturday

Hotelstreet

Every tuesday night various bands perform at a venue called Nextdoor in downtown Honolulu. The event is appropriately named Kaleidoscope because it's ever changing. One tuesday varies from the next with a little twist in the performing line up. As far as the music goes... the selection is eclectic and im always impressed with the talent demonstrated on stage. Being that Kaleidoscope happens on tuesdays, I can't make it there every week but I always hope to. Last tuesday while waiting for a friend outside of a corner store just footsteps away from Kaleidoscope, i noticed a collection of red orbs lighting up Hotel Street. Surprisingly, I had a camera in my car and was able to capture what i saw. This was the start of a fun and eventful night. Tuesday is my new saturday.

Tsubi is now Ksubi

Tsubi_glasses02_1

As you may already know... Tsubi has changed their name to Ksubi (pronounced the same). Politics in the fashion world rarely reaches the ears or eyes of the consumer but situations like these are proof that it exists. During this season, as the change from "T" to "K" makes itself prevelant, Ksubi pushes on with innovative designs that made the Tsubi name famous. These sunglasses just came through our office doors. Each eye-catching style comes with a mini Ksubi duffle bag just big enough to protect them. If you have any questions about these glasses which should be online and available for purchase soon... please feel free to email customer service at [email protected].

MAKE IT YOUR OWN...

Annpins_1

I'm always in favor of customization. Whether it's deconstucting a garment and reconstucting it, sewing on patches to a jacket, or tying a handkerchief to a handbag... Making an item "your own" is a plus. You can find an assortment of items online or around town that will add your personal style to any garment. These fabric and metal pins from ANN DEMEULEMEESTER could be one of the best finds out there. These pins are hand sewn and take the shape of distorted skulls and faces which are very playful. The one that reads "WHAT REMAINS IS FUTURE" has to be my personal favorite. This statement is worth a thousand words. If you are interested in any of these items, please contact Aloha Rag at [email protected].
